we read:
"The use of the word 'Society' in the Charter is noteworthy. In
nearly all the official documents of the Apothecaries in the 17th century
the word used is 'Company', not 'Society'.
Not until 1684 do we find the name 'Society' again made use of, in a
petition to King Charles II.
Thereafter it was gradually adopted."
