1751 - 1787	This date is supported by the following note in the catalogue record for Nova Acta Helvetica Physico-Mathematico-Anatomico-Botanico-Medica in the Univ. Calif. cat. "The Acta and Nova acta were published by the Societas physico-medica Basiliensis which existed from 1751 to 1787 for the purpose of publishing contributions upon the subjects indicated in its title." From this we may conclude that this "society" was likely not a society in the usual sense of a membership-based body that sponsored meetings.
