A founding date of 1764 is given on p.152 of
Dülmen (1996),
where the name is given as
K. K. Gesellschaft des Ackerbaus und der nützlichen
Künste in Steyermark.
This date is also given on p.148 of
Dülmen (1992), along with an English
translation of the name:
Imperial and Royal Society of Agriculture and Useful Arts in
Steyermark.
The publications of the Society establish its existence as late as 1788.
It is not clear what relationship, if any, there was between this Society
and the
Kaiserlich-Königliche Landwirthschafts-Gesellschaft in
Steiermark, which appears to have come into existence around 1819,
based on the title of this 1819 publication in the
GBV German Union cat.:
Grundverfassung, Bestätigungsurkunde und erste Verhandlungen
der K.K. Landwirthschafts-Gesellschaft in Steyermark.
