1791	Dülmen (1992), p.154 gives a founding year of 1791; the name is given as Mohrungsche physikalisch-ökonomische Gesellschaft. The founding date is also given on p.151 of Dülmen (1996). We find some historical information at the Wikipedia entry for Physikalisch-ökonomische Gesellschaft zu Königsberg. This entry tells us that Friedrich Wilhelm II. of Prussia proposed the establishment of this society in 1790, and in 1791, the Chamber Court agreed. In 1792, there was special ceremony to celebrate its founding. In 1799, all assets of the society were moved to Könisberg, and the first session in that city took place that year. Its focus changed with time throughout the 19th century. And the society ceased to exist in 1945 at the end of World War II. In 1946 the city became a Russian city named Kaliningrad.
