1835	According to its website (), the Institution was founded on 1835, August 6 as the Civil Engineers Society of Ireland. In 1844 it became the Institution of Civil Engineers of Ireland. In 1969 it merged with the Cumann na nInnealtoiri (Engineers Association), which had been founded in 1928, to form the Institution of Engineers of Ireland.
