1845	Zeitschrift der Deutschen geologischen Gesellschaft, 1854, v.6, p.23 identifies this as the Gesellschaft der Freunde der Naturwisenschaften in Wien; pp.24-25 indicate that the society was organized in 1845, November and had its first session on 1846, April 26; p.25 refers to the society by the briefer name Freunde der Naturwisenschaften in Wien. It is not clear how long this society survived the founding in 1847 of the Kaiserliche Akademie der Wissenschaften in Wien.
