However, v.74 (1998) of Rassegna Volterrana, an official publication of the Accademia, is subtitled: Atti della Giornata Celebrativa del IV Centenario della Fondazione dell'Accademia dei Sepolti (Volterra, 20 giugno 1998) . This suggests that the founding date may have been 1598, rather than 1597.
