In an entry on the Accademia degli Incolti,
Maylender (1926-1930), v.3, p.211 gives the founding year as 1651 - as does the website for this academy's descendant Rubiconia Accademia dei Filopatridi
( ).
According to the Rubiconia Accademia dei Filopatridi website
( ), in 1801, three esteemed citizens renewed this Academy with the Arcadian appellation
Rubiconia Simpemenia dei Filopatridi.
The latter website goes on to say that in 1876, the bucolic name (and other pastoral trappings) were discarded, and the name of the Academy became
Rubiconia Accademia dei Filopatridi.
