1847	According to p.30 of Van Schaik (1962), in 1846, a number of people who had previously been involved with the Maatschappy ter Bevordering van den Landbouw te Amsterdam (1776 - 1847) became involved in the founding of the Hollandsche Maatschappij van Landbouw. The latter Society came into being in 1847, and the former society concluded its activities and ceded its possessions to the Amsterdam section of the new society. Because of this, the Hollandsche Maatschappij van Landbouw may be considered as the successor to the Maatschappij ter Bevordering van den Landbouw te Amsterdam. A Wikipedia article entitled Hollandsche Maatschappij van Landbouw indicates that this society was founded in 1847 as the Hollandsche Maatschappij van Landbouw as an association of farmers in the two Hollands (North and South). It also indicates that in 1991, the Hollandsche Maatschappij van Landbouw and the (R.K.) Land- en Tuinbouw Bond merged to form the Westelijke Land- en Tuinbouworganisatie (WLTO).
